Why this brace? The Push ortho Ankle Foot Orthosis lifts the foot during the swing phase, controls the plantarflexion after heel strike and then allows unimpeded rolling of the foot resulting in an efficient and natural gait.
Key features:
- Lifts the foot during the swing phase and controls plantar flexion after heel strike, enabling a natural gait.
- Unimpeded rolling of the foot allows smooth flexion and extension in the ankle joint during stance phase for efficient walking.
- Customise the degree of dynamic foot lift and plantar flexion control to individual needs with adjustable elastic straps.
- Lateral stability provides strong side-to-side support for the ankle joint to prevent inversion/eversion.
- Independent fixing system does not rely on shoes for fixation, it can be worn with light footwear like slippers.
- Sympress™ microfiber material is soft, breathable, moisture-wicking, and latex-free for comfort and skin safety.
- Fits under most shoes and can also serve as a night splint.
- During stance phase, the Push AFO allows flexion and extension in the ankle joint and allows the (remaining) function of the calf muscles to be addressed during the rolling of the foot.
- On heel strike, the restraining function of the elastic straps ensures a well-controlled plantar flexion.
Benefits:
- Enables safe, efficient walking for individuals with drop foot or dorsiflexion weakness.
- Reduces strain on muscles and joints while promoting confidence in movement.
- Supports recovery and mobility in cases of stroke, multiple sclerosis, post-polio syndrome, muscular dystrophy, spinal cord injury, and polyneuropathy.
- Lightweight, breathable materials and ergonomic design make it suitable for all-day use.
- Can be worn indoors with light footwear or as a night splint for continuous support.
